Video Stills, Performance
This work highlights the relationship between two bodies' movements through subtle gestures and small movements. It explores the language of the body and how we communicate and interact non-verbally. In this playful performance, the artist uses costume and site-specific locations around Liverpool city to influence the movement of others. By wearing a high-vis costume, she strategically alters the flow of people leaving the train station, demonstrating how attire can control movement dynamics.
The artist examines how space and objects—such as escalators, high-vis clothing, and the train station—collaborate to construct a narrative where seemingly insignificant diversions of movement gain significance. Purposefully issuing meaningless instructions, she prompts reflection on our behaviors and motivations in movement.
